Im 4 Summoning and need to raise it to get my combat above 85 so i can unlock Slayer Points.

803 Golds

 

151 Greens

 

68 Crimsons

 

11 Blues

 

 

 

I really have no idea how to go about training Summoning and i looked on Kent's guide and i didn't really say much about what to make at low levels... I've heard something about buying pouches in GE and trading them for shards? Where and how do i do that? What should i buy?

 

 

 

Im really quite lost to be honest... Can anyone shed some light on what to make and what level i'll end up as?

 

 

 

Please dont divert me to a guide unless it might help me :D

It should be able to tell you everything you need. You can even tell it to leave out pouches you don't like to make.

Edit: Oh, and can anyone tell me how many shards im going to be needing?

Right below the box that tells you the final level, there is a box called "Shards & Costs." By selecting one of the pull-down menu options, it will tell you anything from the cost of all second ingredients (you must input the cost though in the "Edit Pouch Information" section), shards required with and without trade-ins (the ogre guy in oo'glog), amount of shards you will need to begin if using trade-ins, etc. Just play around with the calculator, learn it, and you will see how useful it is.

 

 

 

Edit: Yes, 39 seems to be the level you will end up with. You could, however, get up to level 43 if you choose to use more expensive pouches, such as the Mosquito (I would recommend against the Mosquito, but it's your choice).

It says i'll need 24k shards, which costs over 500K.

 

 

 

Im still confused as to how i trade the pouches back for Shards. Or can i use them as junk?

 

 

 

Edit: I just did a med price calc on GE of all the pouches i will have left and i figured the value to be about 530k, give or take.

There's an article in the RS Knowledge Base about it (sorry, can't post the link right now). Basically, all you need to do is take your pouches (noted will work) to the ogre outside of Oo'glog next to the summoning obelisk. Right click on him and select the option to swap pouches (can't think of the real name). Then you can click "Value" on the pouches in your inventory, and it will tell you how many shards you will get for trading it in and what summoning level you need. This also works for scrolls, and is a much better option than junk trading in my opinion.

 

 

 

Another option (as if that's not complicated enough) is to find out how many shards the ogre in Oo'glog will give, calculate the value of those shards (# times 25), and compare it to the G.E. price of that pouch. If the G.E. price is higher, it would be better to sell the pouch and buy new shards. With such low level pouches, though, I seriously doubt that will happen.

 

 

 

Edit: Yet another option is to look up the high alch value of the pouch and see if it's better to alch them. As you can see, you have plenty of options with summoning :lol:

I have offers for everything in the GE at the moment so hopefully i'll get them soon - well being an idiot i just sold some iron ore to ge like an hour ago :-#

 

 

 

Im assuming the best method of running the scrolls is to tele to fally, run to tav, then tele fally and repeat? Sawn song is one of the quests im yet to do #-o

if you've done enlightened journey, you can use the balloon to talvery from castle wars. bank with ring of dueling. alternatively, put your house in talvery and teleport to it. you can use any teles u have in your house to bank, or again, duel ring.

 

 

 

Also, I wouldn't waste your blue charms just yet. save them for when your higher level, and can make more useful pouches.

 

Don't forget to do penguin hunting/tears of guthix; its great free xp.

Well, again you have a few options. If you've done Enlightened Journey and unlocked the balloon route, you can use the balloon from Castle Wars to Taverly and use a Ring of Duelling back to Castle Wars.

 

Then there's the option of having your house in Taverly, using Tele to Home (have it set to put you outside the portal) and then either using a Falador portal or just a Falador Tele to bank.

 

If neither of those, then you will simply have to walk and tele to Falador like you said.
