When Maging at Clan Wars, my following gear and inventory is as follows:

 

Helm: Zuriel's Hood

Necklace: Amulet of Fury

Body: Zuriel's Robe Top

Legs: Zuriel's Robe Bottoms

Boots: Infinity Boots

Cape: Zammy Cape

Weapon: Zuriel's Staff

Gloves: Dark Gloves

Shield: Unholy Book

Ring: Seers Ring

 

Inventory: Ice Burst Runes, Mage Potion, 2 Super Restores,

Titan's Constitution Scrolls, Remainder filled with RockTails

 

Any Suggested Changes? Mainly looking at shield and changes to inventory,

such as a spec weapon or if to hybrid range.

 

Next, How long would it take to get an Onyx ring (i) from MA?

 

Finally, where to get the charms for 88 summoning, Rock Lobsters or Waterfiends.

For this last one, cost really isn't a problem, as I can make >1m an hour.

My main problem is simply that I'm entirely sure which to do.

I would strongly suggest an arcane, if you can afford one. It is the ultimate mage's shield. I would also drop the hood for a verac helm. If you wanna melee hybrid, substituting inf boots for dragon boots, and seers for onyx (i) or berserker/warrior. You could also bring a crossbow so you can use range em while they are frozen, refreeze, etc. Maybe a master wand to have less degrading cost on your zuriel staff.

 

Onyx ring takes around 30 boring hours.

I would get charms at rock lobsters if you arent 99 mage yet, otherwise waterfiends. I started doing waterfiends, because I'm 99 mage, and with an iron ittan I can get 130+ crimsons an hour at chaos tunnels for free.

 

Also, why ice burst? If you are spending money on zuriel etc, at least use ice and shadow barrage. I would also take some brews/super defences. (and spec weapon and a crossbow)

I would get an arcane, but it's above my wealth, and also do not have the prayer level to weild.

I was thinking a Mage's Book, as it has +15 mage bonus. I might get a verac's helm, the defence

and prayer bonuses would help greatly.

I take that as a no towards getting an Onyx ring (i), especially as I'm not a huge fan of MA.

I'm 90 mage, so you say I shlould busrt for it, and I was swayed toward it as I need to get at

least 94 for venge and barrage.

One more question then, how much do you reckon it will cost to get from 79 to 88 summoning there?

I personally don't think you should spend the money on Zuriel if you're only ice bursting, seems like a big waste to me. Unless maybe it's an actual clan war or something, but you shouldn't be bursting then anyways.

 

And if you can afford it and only want fast charms burst/barrage rock lobsters. If you don't mind slower charms while you get a profit, do waterfiends.

The Zuriel's is for wars with my clan, and is a lot cheaper than the Statius's and Vesta's Longsword I used to use XD Im only burstin fer now, 90 mage ftl.
