Im just about to hit 70 range and im curious of a few questions regarding fight caves...

 

Is void a viable option with only 70 defence? (im a piety pure)

I keep getting told Karils/Crystal bow is better than Rune c'bow, is that right? If not, what bolts should i use? ( i can use broads)

What would be a good set-up for 70 defence, 70 range, 44 pray (i cant get this a little higher)?

 

Im not interested so much in being diverted to guides, as i've read alot of em and got the cape a few times before... Im just curious of the best way to go about this. I dont have millions to spend, which is why im asking about void (As i have it) but its not too hard to get money and i can borrow the most expensive items off mates.

the problem with void isnt so much the lack of defense, but also the lack of offensive range bonuses, and with only 70 range, you'll definately want whatever range bonuses you can get to be hitting jad, the 10% dmg bonus will count for nothing if you're missing twice as often

Use Rune C'bow with broads. For armour, since you're on budget, try neit with black d'hide body and Verac skirt.

I guess this is sorts for my own benifite aswell, is fire cape doable at only 70 range, and if so what are the chances of getting it at that level with a low budget?

Judging from your stats in your signature it would be very hard, i personally used broad bolts with runecbow and diamonds for jad.

 

Void is very bad for this because you have a low defense bonus and the lvl 90's would hit constant 8+(debatable), if you get up to jad the healers would tear u a new one.

 

With 44 pray you would need good prayer bonus, i would advise verac's helm/ Neit helm,Fury/Glory,black dhide body, verac's skirt, Snakeskin boots, Barrow gloves(if you have),rune Cbow,Unholy book(for further prayer bonus), Archers ring(explorers ring if poor). 1k broads bolts and 150 diamonds for jad.

 

Honestly you should train your range up because for a inexperienced person to do firecape with low stats would be very hard. Also i have never heard of a "piety pure", you stats seem to reflect a "barrows pure".

Yes the firecape is doable at 70 range, anything below i would say is very hard/impossible. The lower stat's you have the harder it makes it. Same goes with a lower budget, a lower budget makes it harder to do also.

 

Basically to summarize for flamingboy yes it is possible but it is harder.

Thanks for the replies... As for piety, i intend to get my pray up to level 70, i have done Kingsransom and the Knightwaves, and i also have Barrows gloves (had them since 66 cb :P)

 

As for increasing pray/range, a few years back i got it with 70 range, 45 defence and 52 pray, using welfare gear (d hide really) and karils x bow... Has it really changed that much?

 

Ive got a rangers ring, and i can temporarily buy a fury off a friend and ask to borrow their rangers... Just means i wont be able to afford veracs :| And i use Book of Balance as Zammy is very, very expensive (which i was i asked about Cbow/Karils)

 

For the pray, i could just get 500 bones at drags in about a day or so and then i believe thats about 60 pray?...

 

Edit: I have an Amulet of range, so its basically just helm (i can finish fremmy isles), plate and chaps i need reallu.
