I am currently a Free Player (and haven't played for 4-5 months, but that is irrelevant). I would like to know the best methods to train Smithing with minimal loss and decent speed.

 

Currently, i can think of superheating mithril, but, I already have 99 magic and therefore do not really need to go down this route. Obviously, if it is one of the better methods, then I'll be happy to do it. Any methods that involve breaking even, little loss or making profit are welcome, as long as they are not smelting bars (excluding superheating).

Unfortunately, the only method that makes good money I can think of atm is smelting steel bars. Smithing Platebodies + HIgh Alching almost always makes a loss, as I recall.

You can try superheating addy bars.

 

If you buy everything at medium price you can make ~200gp profit per bar
