Sy_Accursed
Well as of today I've done an upgrade from vista to windows 7 (aka not a clean install) This has resulted in me having a program incompatible with windows 7 left behind; but its interfering with the updating of another program. Add/Remove won't uninstall it.Despite removal from start up and ending all processes trying to delete the folder insists it is in use. And I have yet to find any method of force uninstalling that you don;t have to pay for. Anybody know what I can do? bayba
unfortunately, you may (if your able to) roll back, and then do a "clean" install....i just switched to ubuntu/linux, just tired of that exact problem, windows does what it wants to do, linux does what you tell it to. Sy_Accursed
It's AVG Identity Protection. It installed via AVG Internet Security, but is not currently compatible with Windows 7 despite promises months ago it would be. AVG 8.5 runs fine on windows 7 except the firewall and it needs/wants to upgrade the whole thing to AVG 9.0. I think the core issue is its generating some sort of process I can't see/cancel in task manager Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue

Could you perhaps locate where it is installed and just outright delete it? If it is tied to AVG I would just uninstall AVG in general and install a better, and more reliable, anti-virus software. Sy_Accursed
Regardless of if its a part of the main AVG or not (which it isn't) doesn't change the fact that as my originally post stated: IT WILL NOT UNISTALL and even though ALL process are cancelled it WON'T let me delete the folder. Nadril
Maybe try going safe mode and then trying to uninstall or delete? Google also picked up THIS tutorial which may be of help to you.
