Castle Wars Familiar Msg

Grrr!! I am trying to do the easy task of entering a waiting room for Castle Wars. Every time I try to enter though, I get the following msg:

 

Your familiar can't take non-combat items into the arena

 

First thing: I don't even have a familiar out and summoned. the following is what i have equiped:

 

maple long bow, iron arrows, leather body & studded chaps.

 

My question is why am i getting this msg, and how do i correct it?

Try logging out and logging back in.

Did you have a familiar out with you? If so that might be causing you a glitch. Try summoning a new familiar, maybe a combat one, and enter the waiting room. Hopefully it will work.
