November 6, 200916 yr Uhm, yeah. D; My main monitor has pretty much died, something wrong with something or other, so we're waiting for it to be fixed or replaced, but this isn't about that one. I tried plugging in my back up monitor, so I could do some work, and everything lights up, like the power lights come on, the screen flashes once or twice, then the screen just goes dark, with the power button still being on. It's a Dell one, Iunno if that helps or anything, andon the monitor there's like a row of numbers, 1, 2, 3 and 4. 4 is currently lit up, could that be why it's not working or something? Should it be at 1, maybe? o.O If so, is there any way I canchange it by using the buttons on the front of the monitor? The screen also flashes on for like... a second, maybe, and shows a message which disappears way too quickly before I can read any of it, so that's not much help, and then it goes back to black. So, is there anything I can do to fix it. or is this one boned, too? sleep like dead men wake up like dead men
November 6, 200916 yr It could be the graphics card. The flashing on your screen could have just been the monitor telling you there was no signal from the graphics card. Do you have another desktop or laptop you can test the monitors on? 136 Combat, 2290+ Skill Total
November 6, 200916 yr Author I've got a laptop, yeah. How would I go about testing it? o.O sleep like dead men wake up like dead men
November 6, 200916 yr Author Hm, slight update. I managed to make the little row of numbers go back to 1, and now it's showing my desktop with the programs I was running beforehand instead of the message, but it still only flashes like for a second then disappears. >.< sleep like dead men wake up like dead men
November 8, 200916 yr I have a monitor like that at one of my offices. I haven't used said computer lately, but if I remember correctly, the numbers represent source inputs. Look for a button on the front with a symbol looking like a square/rectangle with a "Enter" key style arrow entering through a side of the rectangle. Not sure if that description helps. I will try to update you next time I visit that monitor. My Blog - Fishing 82/99
