Just wondering if you need to have the fire cape in your inventory or not when you're getting a second? If you do have to have it with you, do you have to have it equipped?

No, you do not need another fire cape with you if you wish to get a second fire cape.

 

It's like saying to get an abyssal whip drop from abyssal demons, you have to wield an abyssal whip to get a drop. :mellow:

 

Oh, and you still get the cape if you already have one in your inventory just like every drop. Common sense really.
