November 14, 200916 yr Firstly I would like to point out that Woodcutting is not an instant moneymaker like mining, you need level 60 woodcutting to start making good money. Levels 1-15 Get a bronze or iron hatchet from Bob's Axes in Lumbridge. Use the help system to find this if you can't yourself :) You should also get a steel hatchet if you can afford one, as you can start using that at level 6. Start off in the forest west of Lumbridge Castle. There are many regular trees here which you can cut down, and level 15 will not even take you an hour to reach. Levels 15-30 If you can afford it, purchase a mithril axe ready for at level 21. If you're still using bronze or iron, that's fine. You will make money near the end of this guide. :-) Head to Draynor Village, there are three Oak Trees in proximity to each other, as seen in the picture below. Cut these until level 30 woodcutting. Levels 30-60 Purchase an Adamant Axe and Rune Axe if you can afford, otherwise sell all the logs you have obtained and get the best axe you can afford. There are two locations I am going to mention here, one for those who wish to bank the Willows, and one for those who don't care about the Willows. (9gp each) Draynor Village has a lot of Willows South-West of the Bank. South-West of Port Sarim is a bunch of 6 Willow Trees in proximity to each other, but you can't bank the logs here, you have to drop them or sell to a store in Rimmington/Port Sarim. Also there are a lot of botters here, as this seems to be where they are programmed to level at, report botters to help free the woodcutting community of them. Levels 60-99 If you are just skilling, cut willows until level 90, then cut yews. Level 60! Who said money doesn't grow on trees? Cut some yews! They sell for around 450gp each on the Grand Exchange. I am going to give you a choice between two locations. South of Melzar's Maze has significantly less people at it than other yew locations. Only downside is that it's further to walk to a bank. (Falador, or Draynor if you have Explorer's Ring 3) South of Falador are three yew trees, one West of the road, and two East of the road. There are usually more people here than the other location however, but it is closer to a bank. Happy 'Scaping :)
November 16, 200916 yr This guide's not bad since it addresses the target audience pretty well. Another decent place to cut F2P yews is in the forest between Lumbridge and Draynor. There are 3(?) trees I think, and it's within reasonable distance of a bank.
November 17, 200916 yr This is a pretty basic guide. While in some mediums basic guides are appropriate, this is not one of them. To write a better guide, you should be more analytical with your methods and offer more concise explanations. However, this is not fault of yours, since f2p woodcutting isn't complex enough. What I am saying is that you have a good idea of content, a pretty good idea of presentation, but a bad topic. F2P woodcutting is very straight forward, and I don't think a conventional guide as such really does much. I hope you don't take this the wrong way. ~It's Super Effective!
