I have a g mauler with these stats-

75 strength

50 attack

i do ok in pvp but my dieing to killing ratio is about 2 deaths to 1 kill.

How can i improve this or do i need to scrap it all together?

Use a range/maul combination... It seems to be one of the few effective ways of using a maul. If you spec fails, then you're relying on heavy hitting. Against one defence pures, i've seen range hit much more consistently than a rune scimi/brine sabre.
