The Beginnings of A Curse

Featured Replies

And when the world began, and there were few people in this world we call Gielinor, many decided that they would band together. This was a glorious alliance among people, and they had a strong and proud leader who's name is now forgotten. As the alliance grew, either by family or conquest, there was much dissension among the people vying for power. As the leader grew stronger, many more banded together and secretly plotted against him, although all peoples felt the tension...

And one day, this strong leader just disappeared. Many were worried greatly by this development, but many more took advantage of the situation, and many were killed in the process. As many leaders grew to power, there was no single person who could take control of the situation. But there was one particular clan that had something special.

And this clan had very few members. They only accepted the most elite of skillers, and were a very close-knit family of powerful warriors who were quick as tigers and more powerful than any creature in existence. Their main focus though, was skills. They could produce their own weapons and armour, and make their own food. They could survive on their own, which made them formidable foes. It is said 5 alone could take down entire cities in a day, and when they did, the many skillers would build back up again the next day.

They obviously never heard the term "Rome wasn't built in a day"

And they had one redeeming quality. They were merciful, they would not kill a single person, and only conquer a city if the city was growing to a power to formidable for the other cities. This turned out to be what some would call their biggest downfall, although such a legendary clan will never truly die.

And one day, they noticed a force growing in the lands of the north. A powerful being had taken control of a city, with his own hands, and this legendary clan had begun to worry and investigated this man. He called himself Impertious, and had a deep understanding of the powerful magics of the north, of ice and stone and death. He was a man worthy of awe, but was a tyrannical fiend with a personal agenda.

And our Leader, the gracious, merciful man known as Artimus, saw this Impertious as nothing more than another evil to overcome, to make the world safe again. He took twenty warriors with him, equipped with the best of the best, the legendary Rune armor. Donned in this glowing blue plate, they marched into the citie of Impertious, and asked to see the Tyrant himself. Instead of inviting them into his palace of stone, he stood on the tallest tower, and threw an Icy Barrage on these men.

And many were slaughtered, as they had never seen anything like it before. But Artimus had run with half his force towards the palace as soon as he saw the Tyrant, and fooled Impertious into a false sense of security. As they scaled the palace walls, the people of Impertious let them pass, overjoyed that someone had come to free them. When they blasted into his room, they found him torturing a young boy, no more than 12. As the boy hung unconscious from his wrists, Impertious sliced down the side of his ribs down to the heel of his toe.

And Artimus was Furious. He took his one of a kind Excalibur, and leaped at this evil man, yelling "For Mary!"

And as He did so, Impertious flicked a finger, and all of Artimus' men were paralyzed, unable to even speak. Artimus swung at the Tyrant, and slashed the tip of his finger off. He screamed out in pain, and flicked his finger and one of The Warriors fell to his death in a revolting torrent of ice and stone piercing his every orifice. Artimus yelled out again "For Freedom!" and Excalibur flashed a brilliant white, and tore apart The Tyrants clothes, weakening his power over magic. But it still wasn't enough, as The Tyrant tore apart the rest of the men in more ingenious and frightening ways, but again and again, Artimus slashed and stabbed at this sorcerer breaking down his flesh, but not his evil soul. More and more Excalibur power Excalibur gathered as The Warriors fell to their death, and everytime Artimus yelled out at the evil bearing down on him, The souls of his men cried with him in a horrible lamenting, liberating dirge of Love of Freedom and Purity.

And as the battle wore on, The Tyrant grew weak, but he had one last scheme. He cast a curse on Artimus and his successors...

"And as time passes on, so shall ye,

when age takes its toil, strength will fail thee

Your men will be weakened, none could try

try to live as you, as your men die.

And forever this curse will be

reverse it not even a diety

Accept all who apply, you must

as your clan crumbles to dust"

And with his last breath, Impertious cursed Artimus and his kin. Artimus came out of that palace victorious that day, but he felt as if he had lost more than could ever be gained. He went out to the meadows and cried out this prayer.

"And Guthix sleeps, while I weep

My people will die, as you watch from the skies

I beg of you, save this clan, through and through."

And Guthix heard his cry, and felt his heartstrings tug at him.

"And the Cursed Skillerz will arise,

Once Again, worship me and thrive,

To Balance this Curse set upon you,

Accept all, and be the Clan that is True."

I do hope you know that a mod will probably lock or delete this because the Varrock Library is not the proper place to advertise a clan. And since most of us who frequent the library quit playing this seems like a futile effort at recruiting. Post this on the clan forum and you might have better luck getting an audience.

this isn't about recruiting for a clan, it was just a story that I wrote for the clan, and they liked it so much I figured I'd post it on tip.it.

I'm going to continue in this story line too

Linking to your clan's website seems to me like either advertising or recruitment, I will go more with the first though. It's fine to post the story, but I don't know if advertising your site through means of this story is alright. Of course, nobodies locked it or anything so I'll let you go on your merry way.
