Any ideas. I really need my gmail and school email. My family have three macs and none of em work. I have switched off, left off for 5 minutes and then turned on the broadband and the airport and it doesn't work. Any ideas? I am really stuck as this has happened before but it went away after 1 month, but i cant wait that long.

Thanks,

Sailor89/StalkingLynx

If it doesn't work on 3 computers, then the problem is not the computer you are on.

You could try unplugging the router for 20 secs and then replugging it, making it reinitialize.

If it still fails, call your ISP as the problem is most likely on their end.

Reset your modem if you have one. Then hook up one of your computers directly to an ethernet port (bypass the router but not the modem if you have one) and then turn of Airport through System Preferences. Attempt to access the sites you have mentioned. Even if this-in the long run-is not a feasible location for your computer it will tell you what your issue is. If you are able to access the internet then your router is to blame, if not then you should ring up your ISP. What type of router do you have?

That sounds like a settings issue, if you are able to access sites like Google or Tip.it. However, because it is present on all of your computers it rules out issues with cacheing or browser preferences. That is, unless you are not logged in as an administrator. In any case, reseting the router may help.

If you have a router supplied from Apple: open up Airport Utilities (found under Applications>Utilities) and choose Manuel Setup>Assist Me>Restore to factory settings and set up again.

Should you have a different router: press and hold a physical button on the back/bottom of the router for about 10-30 seconds. It may also prove worthy to check out 192.168.1.1 (place this in your address bar without "www.") and make sure that the settings reverted. If not you will need to manually change them back. The address I mentioned will only be available when your router is directly hooked up to the computer.
