Two unrelated questions (farming and mining/smithing)

Featured Replies

1) I'm looking to add an allotment to my farming runs -- which would be the best?

2) I train mining at the concentrated gold rocks. Should I sell the ores and buy bars to use SC hammers on, or should I smelt/superheat the gold ores?

If you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.

1) Allotments are either too slow or too expensive to effectively farm at higher levels. However, if you want xp, go with watermelons (they're something like 12gp/xp though, so it's probably better just to upgrade your tree runs). If you want low cost/profit, go with strawberries/sweetcorn.

2) I personally sell it, since SC hammers + Adamant bars is superior over Smelting Gold w/ Gauntlets.

I really don't like allotments because they're so very slow...they really do add a lot of time to your herb runs and it just isn't worth it for the pittance of xp they provide. Trees, fruit trees, herbs, bushes, and flowers should be more than enough for your farming.

If you must, then go with strawberries. Watermelons are a waste of money.

I actually think that sweetcorn are the best if you make scarecrows. They will never get diseased, and you don't have to pay a farmer for them. The xp is decent enough for the time it takes, and the cost makes a negligible impact on your herb farming profits.

You're better off supercomposting the allotments and growing marigolds.
