Using Fast MA, you can get ~12 ranks per hour.

 

So yes, it is a very long journey. The rings are, in my experience, very useful. The Lord Marshal outfit looks great and it's very impressive. You can buy all the rings and the full outfit by the time your rank is 300.

 

Does this mean it's worth it? Well, that's for you to decide.

I'm pretty sure Fast MA is now completely defunct. Just go on the 4 person start world and just suicide and you'll be good.
