It cost me 30-35M by having my butler run oak logs to the sawmill, and I went from level 73-99 in less than 2 months (including getting the hammers by using Fast_Sc clan chat). Gathering hammers takes more time than leveling. Leveling takes like a couple weeks, but hammer-gathering can take a few more weeks. Note: Use the regular butler. Make oak larders until level 74.
