Obby Golem+Mining?

Featured Replies

Title and descrip says it all. I want to know if using a Obby golem the +7 mining boost allows you to mine higher lvl ores or does it only allow you to mine faster?

aw dang i was hoping it would let me mind higher lvl stuff so i could go kill some living rock minerals =/

There is a familiar that give a +1 mining visible boost so you might want to use them later on :)

Check? Hmm?

It's a void ravager. Level 34. It can give you a +1 mining boost, as well as an additional invisible +1 boost that marginally increases your mining speed. I haven't used one before, but I'm pretty sure (based on Dreadfowls and Stranger Plants) that it's a right-click ability. The pouch costs something ike 5-6k, and it lasts 27 minutes. So you can basically go 27 minutes with +1 mining. Not a lot of people make the pouches, though, so they could be hard to buy.

Alternatively, you can use a dwarven stout for +1 mining temporarily at the cost of inventory space. A mature dwarven stout will give a +2 boost, but they're rarer and more expensive, so they're impractical to use in significant numbers. Braindeath 'rum' is a more obscure drink that also gives a mining boost iirc, but there's no real reason to use it. I'd stick with the ravager.
