Runescape Video uploading problem

I'm having trouble uploading a vid to Youtube. I captured the video to an .avi, which I edited to a .wmv with Windows Movie Maker.

I tried uploading this several times, but it failed rather fast and just said "error".

 

The I used VLC to convert it to a .flv with H264 codec, which seemed to upload fine until it gave an error at the end.

Now I'm converting it to a .mp4 with H264 codec, but that's still running.

 

Anyone know what is wrong and how I should solve it?

You can't upload it directly from wmm, you have to publish it. Around the top bar this a button that says "Publish movie" click that then upload the file you get to youtube and it should work.

That doesn't explain why the .mp4 with h264 codec doesn't work. Also, my version of Movie maker is too old to upload directly. I'm trying Dailymotion as an alternative, but want Youtube too eventually.

I'm just saying when you're done editing and making your video just click the publish button on wmm and it was make a new file to the quality and so on you specify, then you upload that to youtube. If I'm misunderstanding you I'm sorry because I'm not much of a techie. :P

Well, I tried directly uploading from my program, but it's too old (came with my Windows XP). Now, why can't I upload my converted video (.mpa, codec h264)?

Windows Movie Maker files (wmv) upload fine for me. Can you clarify that you did publish it into a *wmv and that file did not upload to Youtube correctly? If so you might try getting a newer version of WMM maybe. I believe they have Windows Live now.

Yeah the problem was with Firefox. I tried with IE and my .mp4 vid uploaded just fine. Might even work with .wmv, but I didn't try, since the vid is working and it took a long time for that 43 MB. The .wmv is is 140+MB...
