Always farm herbs, allotments aren't always a good idea, but sometimes they can make profit

Typically they aren't worth the effort

Normal trees aren't worth planting unless you're rich.

Oak trees are okay, but they dont give much xp

plant fruit trees, low lvl ones, whatever is cost effective.

Plant poison ivy's when you're lvl 70 farming

As for flowers, marigolds and limpwurts

I'll direct you to my AoW farming guide, the link is in my sig. There's a section especially on what to plant.

You'll want to, of course, plant your allotments. But I recommend you do all the quests that yield farming xp. In fact, if you do, you'll land somewhere around 40-ish farming, if I recall correctly. You'll get a whole bunch of useful quests done too, and it'll be fun!

Yeah zaaps's guide is pretty good, I'd check that out.

You can also do more quests to raise your level quickly. Fairy Tale Part 1 is a good place to start--it gives you a nice chunk of xp and you need to do it for magic secateurs anyway.
