Do I need to have 83 farming to receive exp when checking its health? Or can I get the exp with just 80 farming. Also, does it count towards the bonus exp weekend?

You may check the health without 83 farming, however you WILL NOT get the experience. You must boost up and then check the health if you want the xp. They will count for the weekend.
