March 25, 201016 yr I am solo tribriding my task with full helm. sol+fire surge or claws of guthix? which is better? CoG hits a tiny bit higher but fire surge is cheaper, gives more mage exp and lets you wear a soul wars/trimmed 99 cape, use fire surge.

March 25, 201016 yr You also get to use the rune saving effect of the SoL when using Fire Surge over CoG. It's a very accurate spell, and is only weaker by a few numbers.the staff also gives you a greater magic defence to help against the spinolyps while killing rex.
