Question about mic contacts

Allright, it is my understanding that the rules on this forum are the same rules as the RSoF but I can't figure out where to ask this there and to see if I can expect leniency here. I want to start a clan of some sort that uses Teamspeak/Ventrilo, now I know exchanging contact information is against the rules but if you don't understand how these programs work you just enter in a IP address and you're in a server where you can talk to people through microphones. My question is would this fall under the "Exchanging contact information" clause of the rules of the RSoF and if it is I don't know if its far enough from being contact info to really be bothered with here. Help please?

Thank you for asking :)

We do have a little bit more leniency here than the RSoF. These are our rules regarding personal information:

1.7 - Volunteering Personal Information

  • For your privacy and security, asking for or volunteering certain personal contact information is not permitted. This consists of full name, city of residence, street address, telephone number(s) and password/account details. Photographs are permitted so long as they are not pictures of license plates, house numbers, or any of the contact information listed above. Pictures that are particularly revealing (i.e. no shirt on for no reason or for the purpose of displaying abs, etc.) are not permitted. But casual pictures at the beach/pool/etc. where the person is in a swimsuit, is okay.

This applies to all forum posts, avatars and signatures. Posting any of the above information on private messages/forums is permissible at the user's risk.

We do not have any rules about Teamspeak or Ventrilo. Our main concern when it comes to contact information is releasing phone numbers, addresses, etc. which would allow someone to find/contact you in real life.

I hope that answers your question :)
