May 27, 201016 yr So a few weeks ago a I got my seemingly annual virus for this computer. However after I had removed everything. Scanned with spybot, and malware bytes, they found a bunch of crap. And I also removed the boot up file that it installed on my computer. Now none of my internet browsers work (chrome, IE, or firefox). My computer will update the anti-virus. This proves I have connection. And I am posting from this computer on firefox. However, the only way for it to work is if the program is on a thumb drive. This is very annoying because it doesn't save my settings or anything. Any suggestions? Oh I also tried to redownlaod Chrome and Firefox and they still don't work. Thanks.
May 27, 201016 yr Uhm, could you clarify. What is your Anti-Virus, I can't tell if you think MAM or Spybot are your anti-virus or you have another program.Did you say you accidentally deleted your boot file? Do you get any error messages when you try to open up the browsers? Or in general.Do you have a recovery point?Would you consent to re-formatting? Do you have an external hard-drive?Could be low RAM if all of your new programs are starting at boot-up. Have you tried doing "msconfig" or going into the anti-virus programs and have them not start from boot-up. Spybot and MAM don't exactly mix, they even have warnings prior to scanning if they detect each other. So, based on your predicament, either you did something, or the virus won. Either way, something is missing. Just some things I was hoping to know, I'm not really a good techie, but I have personal experiences with these thingies.
