3PointMan
I want to start semi-dieting, but I always go back to fatty foods, and eat a lot. I seem to keep going back, how can I motivate myself? I already drink water, and haven't had a pop in 6 months. We go out to eat once a week, and I LOVE chicken strips, can I still eat them in moderation? I jsut don't really know how to motivate myself. I'm pretty healthy but I have slight fat on my stomach, and I jsut want to lose that. http://i612.photobucket.com/albums/tt206/samtheninja/Tags/FEARLESStag.jpg http://i787.photobucket.com/albums/yy156/song4thedeaf/stuff.png what i'm doing now: https://linktr.ee/student1
assassin_696
How are we supposed to know what motivates you? You're not morbidly obese so we can't tell you you're going to die to motivate you, it sounds like you need mild motivation to just generally eat a bit cleaner, which is something you have to work out for yourself. We can give you fairly standard weight-loss advice, cut down on refined sugars and saturated fats, exercise more etc. but when it comes to motivation everyone's different. Some people do it because they think that a better physique will be more impressive to others (girls) and some do it because they enjoy the process and like feeling healthy. And yes, you can eat chicken strips in moderation and still lose weight. "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"
Myweponsg00d
Eat less. Move more. Of course you can eat chicken strips. Just do a little healthier on the other meals. If you are craving fat you should try buying some things like almonds and cashews. These nuts have lots of fat, but also have some nice fiber to help fill you up. To motivate yourself, remind yourself what you want. When you go to order those french fries, take a moment and think about why you are getting food. Do you want to eat for the taste that you crave? Or do you want to get healthy? If you want one thing more than the other, you'll do it. Honestly, the reason that people fail at getting healthy is just because they are unfamiliar with it. People are too scared to get healthy because it changes everything theyve known their whole life. The best advice I can give you is "just do it" (like Nike). It will be uncomfortable for you at first, but eventually youll realize that what you are doing is helping you achieve your highest goals and getting more enjoyment. magekillr
Dieting is worthless. You either make a change in your life style, or you don't. The reason diets never work is because people go on them, make progress, and then go back to business as usual. Some questions: 1.) What's your metabolism like? 2.) What other things do you eat? Like, what's your average daily eating schedule like? 3.) How much do you exercise? What is your exercise plan like? I can't answer if you can eat chicken strips in moderation and successfully tackle this stomach fat without knowing. If you're looking to lose weight on the tummy, diet has the most impact, second being cardio. No amount of crunches or abdominal workouts will get rid of the flabbyness, you'll just develop strong muscles underneath. So you must absolutely reduce your fat content, and your simple sugars (sodas, fruit juices, dairy). Remember, diet is the most important part of fat loss, and it cannot be a "diet". You must have a lifestyle change.
Ouchy
Remember, it's easier to lose calories by not eating them, then it is by doing exercise. My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.

The Mythology of Obesity• obesity research hardly deserves to be called science; based on the assumption that excessweight results from excess calorie consumption and/or physical inactivity ("gluttony-slothhypothesis")◦ the attitude is that this assumption cannot be questioned, doing so makes one an extremeskeptic◦ the evidence all points to different causes, and contradicts the gluttony-sloth hypothesisover and over• mainstream explanation of obesity epidemic: prosperity leads to overeating and higher-fat diets, and less physically demanding work◦ a few major problems with this explanation:▪ the increase in calories since the 70s has been primarily from carbs; fat intake hasfallen▪ the exercise mania started in the 70s▪ obesity is most prevalent among the poor and hard-working (commonly co-existing with childhood malnutrition)• case study: the Pima Indians◦ hit very hard by diseases of civilization (obesity, diabetes) after taking up western foods(beans, sugar, flour, soft drinks) "Those who give up their liberty for more security neither deserve liberty nor security."
