99 herblore and farming questions

Hello everyone,

 

I will have around 70 mil from 99 fishing, and a friend of mine persuaded me into doing farming with her after we both get 99 fishing. I was wondering about farming herbs, trees and perhaps other types of plots for money and 99 farming and herblore.

So my questions are as follows:

1. I have 1000 harralander seeds, using super compost, and making energy potions, will this more than likely get me to 99 herblore?

2. If the answer to the above question is no, then what is a rough estimate of the level it will get me to? and how much gold roughly would it take for 99 herblore?

3. What would a good crop for making money to cover the costs of seeds and secondary ingrediants for the potions be?

4. Also time isn't much of an issue, but I would like to know about how long it would take me to grow these herbs for herblore.

1. They won't get you 99 herb, not even close.

2. Maybe 70? Don't bother.

3. You're wasting your time planting such low lvl herbs, do avantoe or higher. You'll profit if you sell finished pots. Unless you do something useless like reg energy pots.

4. Depends how much you play.

1. Agreed with Evil. You wont even come close to 99 Herblore.

2. I dunno if you'll even get 70.

3. Planting papaya, curry, or coconut trees and using a giant ent to pick the fruit everyday will cover the cost of the seeds if you're using cheaper seeds.

4. If not a year, very close to a year. That's assuming that you're diligent and you plant the right herbs.

1. I have 1000 harralander seeds, using super compost, and making energy potions, will this more than likely get me to 99 herblore? No. It'll get you roughly 400-600k herblore exp, which is only about 4% of the way to 99.

2. If the answer to the above question is no, then what is a rough estimate of the level it will get me to? and how much gold roughly would it take for 99 herblore? Depending on your starting level, probably about 65-70. Herblore is currently an extremely expensive skill to level up. If you were going to buy all your supplies to make potions for 99, expect to spend somewhere around 200-300 mil.

3. What would a good crop for making money to cover the costs of seeds and secondary ingrediants for the potions be? Toadflax are generally regarded as being a good, low risk profit, but you'll get less exp than if you farmed something higher like avantoe.

4. Also time isn't much of an issue, but I would like to know about how long it would take me to grow these herbs for herblore. Assuming you're using all 5 patches, it would take you 200 farming rounds to plant all 100 seeds. Since it takes about an hour and 20 minutes for herbs to grow, it's reasonable to say you could get 2-4 rounds done per day, which means it would take you approximately 50-100 days (or 2-4 months).
