  1. No support for any change to the assist system. As someone who assists my friends in fishing and cooking effigies, I think that any more assisting would be detrimental to jagex's profit margin and the game itself. Jagex uses these effigies as a way to tempt lower levels in cb and skills to improve both and make a more even account, this means that more people will more than likely buy more membership in order to train these skills easier while also having a wider choice of skills to choose from. The game benefits by having a limitation. Many players such as myself who have stayed with runescape through the years have noticed that the game we once played has become so much easier these past few years. If Jagex increases the amount of assistance that we are allowed to hand out to lowere levels, then that makes the game just that much easier for the lower levels and us, I personally like to have a barrier that only dedicated people can pass. This barrier is the large amount of playing time or money or both for the levels to nourish an effigy.
  2. Any way you do it, use a anti-dragon shield, but the best method would be to range them while praying protect melee.
  3. Also a method not commonly said is stunning on the default mage book. If you are using sc equipments then you can get as high as about 100k exp per hour. Otherwise it is about 75kish per hour. As for the cost if you use a mystic mud staff it should cost no more than about 2mil and no more than 3 mil. For the equipment you want as low a mage bonus as possible so full rune or such would be preferrable.
  4. Kill Count, and i have always heard that you should either kill 0, 5, or 12, but I do experiment much as I have not done barrows much this past year. Hope this helps good luck with your trips.
  5. Just so you know, they have a mage based melee attack im pretty sure, so anything with high mage defence will work fine. Happy slaying : )
  6. Lol i mainly don't worry about my ranks but of course I get into races and competitions with friends like most people, then it is about sheer amount of exp. ^^
  7. The first article was an interesting twist on an old topic that many runescapers just ignore. The major difference in this was not that the author was complaining, but that he/she offered a viable solution to the clan problem. The only problem that I have with that sollution is the massive amount of sheer transactions that go on via the G.E especially on trade worlds. The second article on the other hand was not so convincing. I have always seen distractions and diversions as they were meant to be seen by Jagex, they are a quaint, fun, and mini-game like way to get a little extra exp. They were not meant to be a full time thing for us all to do on a daily basis. I find these distractions and diversions a fun way to get little trinkets and rewards of small items and some experience. Like the author said distractions and diversions like that do not add any content to the game, so why should Jagex put any over the top experience reward or some very coveted item in it. The DYK was very interesting, I will be using it in the future. P.S- Shattered hearts is just a way to make skilling that much more rewarding. P.P.S- Ancient effigies are not the "main activity" the combat of monsters that drop the effigies is the main activity the effigies themselves are, like shattered hearts, just another great way to make combat training that much more rewarding.
  8. Oh sorry, I meant the bots that ask for help, my bad. Thanks for pointing that out edited.^^
  9. AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGG. Ok, had to let some steam off there. I have noticed that since these ancient effigies have been let out, there has been a decidedly large increase in autoers and spamers in LRC looking for help. I understand that people want the dragonkin lamp from completing these excelent new monster drops, but come on people. Back on topic, while fishing in the LRC i am usually one of the ones that contributes in discussions, be they about funny things that happened recently in game or in real life, discussions about recent updates or future updates, anything really to take the edge off of fishing, but with the spammers and the autoers looking for assists coming in a lot during these conversations it is amazingly annoying and hard to keep a decent conversation going. I realize that I can report them, ignore list them, or turn off public chat, and a lot of times I do exactly that, but goodness gracious people can't you at least do it at the G. E. Thanks for letting me get that off my chest.
  10. I have had this exact same problem with my ibis familiar in piscatoris fishing colony, every 6-7 pouches that I summon, after about 15 minutes, the ibis simply dissappears without saying a thing in my chat box about the timer runnin out. I have asked some other players about this and none of them have had this happen to them. I reported it as a bug a week ago, but no changes or messages since. Hope jagex straightens this out soon.
  11. Hello everyone, I will have around 70 mil from 99 fishing, and a friend of mine persuaded me into doing farming with her after we both get 99 fishing. I was wondering about farming herbs, trees and perhaps other types of plots for money and 99 farming and herblore. So my questions are as follows: 1. I have 1000 harralander seeds, using super compost, and making energy potions, will this more than likely get me to 99 herblore? 2. If the answer to the above question is no, then what is a rough estimate of the level it will get me to? and how much gold roughly would it take for 99 herblore? 3. What would a good crop for making money to cover the costs of seeds and secondary ingrediants for the potions be? 4. Also time isn't much of an issue, but I would like to know about how long it would take me to grow these herbs for herblore. Thank you all so much for any posts, G0ddes0frain (In game name)
