FLETCHING

A complete manual by MstrMonopoly

Introduction to Fletching

Fletching, the easiest of all members skills to train, is a popular choice for members looking to trim an existing skillcape or get their very first. Whatever your reason for fletching, I will help you get there with this neat little guide.

Table of Contents

1. Starting Out: Levels 1-55 [sOFLET]

2. The Middle Way: Levels 55-85 [MWFLET]

3. Finishing Up: Levels 85-99 [FUFLET]

4. Unorthodox Ideas [uNFLET]

5. ???.... Profit? [PROFFLET]

6. Now what? [NWFLET]

7. The Condensed Version of this Guide [CONDFLET][

Starting Out: Levels 1-50 [sOFLET]

So, you're a young RS adventurer looking for a way to sit at the bank and laze around. Back in free-to-play, no skill really offered this kind of sedentary activity. But now...

The only good way to get from level one to level ten is to fletch arrow shafts. This should take around twenty seconds (figure exaggerated for comic effect). After that, you must fletch longbows until you are level 20, at which point you may fletch oak shortbows. At 25, switch to oak longs and at 35, switch to willow shorts. At 40, switch to willow longbows and at 50, switch to maple shortbows. I This whole process may cost upwards of 100,000 gp... I would highly recommend starting off with at least a 1M cash pile before starting to fletch anyway. Beginning at 54, though you have a whole variety of options, which should make training fletching a lot less boring.

Bolts

The kind of bolts that one would be training on are either broad or mithril bolts. Broad bolts require Slayer Points to purchase, but give phenomenal money. In fact, fletching broad bolts can give up to 1M per hour. However, the experience they give is variable and relies heavily on the use of MouseKeys. Without MouseKeys, you will not make nearly as much money per hour and will get xp rates close to half of what they are with MouseKeys. Basically, I'm going to put every method I know of into a little box that should tell you everything about it, as well as my own highly subjective opinion.

Fletching Method #1- Broad Bolts

Money/hr: You can make ~6k bolts from (unf) bolts in an hour. Therefore, the formula we have here is 6000(Price of bolt - price of bolt (unf) - price of feather) = x

Xp/hr: 90-180,000

AFK rating: 0

Recommended if: You value your time at about 1M per hour and can deal with the constant clicking required.

Fletching Method #2- Metal Bolts

Money/hr: You can make ~6k bolts from (unf) bolts in an hour. Therefore, the formula we have here is exactly the same as the one above.

Xp/hr: 150-300,000 for Mithril, 220-425,000 for Adamant

AFK rating: 0

Recommended if: Mithril or Adamant Bolts (unf) are actually buyable from the GE. If not... don't bother. Also, you have to value your time at significantly more than 1m/hour. This isn't too hard if you can boss hunt effectively.

I piety the fool.

I don't think its a good idea to suddenly start writing a "Ultimate" guide when you are currently bored. I would finish it up in MS Word first. There is really no point in posting a half done guide.

Also, methods are pretty outdated. Unf' 's are pretty hard to buy these days.

Delete the "FLET" in the contents. They do nothing.

Hey there,

It seems this guide is still a work-in-progress, so I've moved it to the "Beginning Guides" forum, where users can help you out as you finish it up. Once your guide is complete we'll be happy to move it back to the "General Guides" forum.

Thanks
