construction dungeon entrance facing direction

for the dungeon entrance, does it behave like the stair that the opening face the opposite direction from where the room was built?

I think it always faces the same direction. The opening faces the away from the magic trees.

I remember when I built mine that the doorway was on the opposite side of where I was standing, now I have no idea if that is at all useful in determining the side of the entrance, but I thought I'd throw it out there in case.
