I'm going to be getting back into training a bit. I generally have used crossbow over say magic shortbow or any other alternatives. But just wondering what is better, I am going to be training range with slayer on tasks that are good for range.

 

What is a good bolt or arrow/bow that is cost effective?

 

For example I have like 120 hellhounds... I dont necessarly need the cheapest thing out there either, I want effecient and effective... Not really cheap and slow. If you understand what I'm asking here I appreciate any insight before I make any large ammo purchases.

Karils top+bottom

Fury

Snake boots

Archer Helm

Spiky black hide vamps

ava's accumulator

 

Then with rune crossbow/zammy prayer book I have +179 range attack bonus

 

With Magic short +150 total range attack bonus

Mithril Knives/adamant darts in Kuradal's dungeon (except on Iron/steel dragons where you'd need accuracy)

Crossbow with Broad bolts elsewhere.

This. I'd also suggest swapping the archer helm for a focus sight/full slayer helm since you're training ranged with slay.

Working on saving up my points for full slayer helm now. Believe it or not last time I trained slayer there where no points! haha

I'd recommend not wearing Karils for range armour, much better off with either Armadyl or Black D'hide. Only reason to wear Karils over D'hide would be if you're fighting a monster that uses a magic-based attack, otherwise D'hide has same range attack and doesn't degrade.
