Sorry but i've been out of the game for a while. What are the current best ways of training mining? And is there any good "afk" type spots?

The living rock caverns under the dwarven mines are a great afk mining spot!

As Holiday said, the living rock caverns are great, but you need 77? mining for coal and 80 for gold, so that's out of your range for now. Until then I would recommend mining granite.

Only afk methods are living rocks, runite mining (because of the long mining time and 40 second world hop timer), and shooting stars.
