Sbrideau Posted August 3, 2010 Share Posted August 3, 2010 Hi, My brother recently bought a laptop, and when he plugs it on the TV (which is a 720 HDTV) using HDMI, the TV screen will go on and off, sometimes more often than others. I don't know if it's clear what I mean, if not, ask more. Computer is on Windows 7 and has a GTX 230M as graphics card. I'm connect to my Tv in my room using a S-Video Cable, but the Tv is quite old so the quality isn't great. The only problem is my brother doesn't want to use anything else than HDMI, but we found that the problem happens less when the resolution we put is smaller. We found someone that had the same problem, and that person solved it with a TV firmware update. Not wanting to risk the warranty, we won't update the firmware of the TV. I tried the laptop on my secondary computer screen and there was no flicker, so that seems to have been the problem all along. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
