Does MTK still keep gathering items even if you're F2P and offline?

Offline, definitely yes.

 

A few years ago, my Miscelania also kept working while I was F2P but every now and then I hear people saying it doesn't work when you're F2P so maybe they updated that. Anyway, taking your money out of that chest can't do any harm :P
