Adamant Knives or Rune Darts?

First of all, I'd like to underline the fact that they have identical stats

Second: Everybody recommends using rune darts when slaying in Kurdal's cave, but it seems adamant knives are lower in price and have the same speed (Am I right?)

 

So, the question is, is there a good reason for using rune darts over adamant knives?

 

Also, small side question: At 83 summoning (Will get 88 in 1200 crimsons) what's the best combat familiar? Lava Titan, Spirit Dagannoth, Dreadfowl, or what?

at 83 sum i used spirit dag

 

 

and for range when i ranged slayer i used knifes because i couldnt see the reason why darts were more expensive for the same stats :/ so yeah i would use knifes (however i used mithril knifes / addy darts not addy darts / rune darts) but your probably more wealthy :P

I can't find any evidence that darts are faster than knives (or vice versa). As I understand it, you have a slightly longer range with knives than you do with darts.

 

I get by with steel knives, but I am renowned for my frugality. YMMV.

One bar makes 10 darts or 5 knives.

High level monsters drop 60% more darts than they drop knives (assuming they can drop knives and/or darts).

In RSC the knive was faster than the dart.

This is no longer the case.

 

Yes, you should be using adamant knives instead of rune darts.

the only difference here is the pricetag.
