Soloing Zamorak (GWD)

Featured Replies

I was wondering whether soloing the Zamorakian boss in the God wars dungeon would be a good way of making money and what gear/prayer I should use.

I've seen someone use Bandos armour whilst protecting against magic, but I don't know whether that's effective or ineffective. He used a divine spirit shield anyways.

Any advice, suggestions or recommendations regarding the subject would be highly appreciated.

Thanks (:

No zammy sucks for money, at your levels (assuming you can make overloads), I would either cannon DKs or do Tormented Demons.

How funny you mentioned that. I searched for videos on how to hybrid DKs on YouTube and I do tormented demons frequently. Gotten 6 pairs of dragon claws so far. And yes, I can make overloads, I have approximately 60 banked at the moment.

The reason I posted this thread is because of the motivation I've lost fighting tormented demons as they become boring as you continuously have to be concentrated, so I was just looking into other methods of making money.

Yeah, ZGWD is pretty much horrible cash, relying almost solely on a hilt drop which is worth so little, TDs are far better since claws are worth more and more common and easier to kill. Although if you want, you could still solo it for fun. When I tried with yak, ovls, rapier, and turmoil, I only got 16 kills, but I also only got 15 kills at Bandos, and then I got 16 kills at Bandos with a unicorn only, so I have no idea how many kills to expect but for me Bandos soloing is easier, more kills (I just suck with yak only soloing because I don't time my ovl restores too well). So unless you're doing it for the fun, Bandos soloing is much better.

What I would recommend for Zamorak soloing if you're still interested:

Helm: Full Slayer Helm (if on task, also +10 magic defense) > Verac's Helm > Neitznot Helm

Amulet: Fury > Glory

Cape: Soul Wars cape > Fire cape

Body: Karil's > black d'hide

Legs: Karil's > black d'hide

Weapon: Chaotic Rapier > Chaotic Longsword > Whip (not too sure really, maybe whip > CLS too, fairly certain Rapier's best though)

Shield: Divine > Elysian > Spectral > Dragonfire shield > Obsidian Shield (range defense I guess, maybe rune defender better)

Gloves: Barrow

Boots: Dragon

Ring: Berzerker (i) > Berzerker

Arrow slot: 1 zamorak arrow

Inventory would include 2 overloads, 1 antipoison (p++), house teleport, yak scrolls, unicorn scrolls, unicorn pouch, saradomin item (I'd recommend holy symbol, cheap and can drop after), dragon claws (maybe enhanced excalibur if you have the 400 LP healing one, otherwise I'd recommend a DDP lol, no idea really after dragon claws), and maybe 8 super restores and rest brews. Fill the pack yak with brews. I just guessed this inventory, when I tried it I ran out of prayer because I brought 7 super restores.

Pray deflect melee and turmoil, and just keep your LP above 650ish at all times (can get specced and then hit by minion, happened to me once because I was at 550ish and confident I'd live lol).

Again, I'm not expert on this at all, but try it out if you want, I find it fun to do once in a while.
