Georgelemmons Posted September 10, 2010 Share Posted September 10, 2010 Gifs can be compressed in gimp by going to the image menu -> mode, then selecting rgb and switching back to indexed to re-index it. In the options, choose "generate an optimum palette" and choose the number of colours you want (less colors means a smaller file size and lower quality). This can be done in Photoshop, though I'm not sure if you can open an animated gif with it. I can check if you want.
