civie
As the topic says, I want to train my smithing to 99. What are the options available to me if I want to make a profit, however small? I know about Cannonballs, but those are SLOW.Also, I will have mined approximately 150K coal when I get 99 mining, so I only have to buy loads of iron/mithril/adamant/rune ore (though the last two are most likely too expensive). I won't be using any boosters, except if SC Hammers can make a loss into a reasonable amount of profit. Thank you for your time. Ezkaton
I think Iron knives would be your bet for profit then. Maybe blast furnace ores into bars - eg runite. Other than that smithing really isn't the skill to be looking for a profit in..... I'm currently doing it the expensive way by plating which I would highly advise due to the amount of exp to get from 92+ And when you hit 91+ do try and find people on W117 for effigys. Helps a tonne. Reacting impulsively and saying what's on your mind feels oh so good.. for a little, until you realize you just started WWIII.2672nd person to reach 2496 total. Thanks to Wicked for the awesome siggy :D
Guest jrhairychest
This may not be your cup of tea but it may work for you. I'm not exactly Mr efficiency lol. If you're intent on mining coal ore, simply sell it and invest the money in gold ore. Gold is currently 260 and coal 309 so you'd make a profit from it and get decent xp with goldsmith gloves. I prefer mining the iron at Ardy monestary using the ardy cape tele then glory back to edgy. Sure it may not be profitable but as iron ore is quick to mine i can mine 2-3 in the time it takes me for 1 coal and its not a bad price at 237 currently to sell. So I mine iron, flog it and buy gold ore and smith that. The iron ore money never sees my bank so, in theory, I don't lose anything. The gold bars can then be crafted if you wanted with or without gems. Either way you win.
