Jad Task

Recommended Posts

I've failed Jad 8 times, all using range. However, I haven't tried him in the last 10 or so combat levels. I got a Tzhaar task, so I thought I would try it. Here are my stats...

95 Attack

90 Strength

87 Defence

94 HP

88 Range

88 Mage

79 Summoning

86 Herblore

75 Prayer

Think that's all that matters. Since I always died at healers, I thought I would get him down to half health, then just try to claw him out. Thing about that is, I don't have Vengeance. Would I still be able to get the rest of ~1250 damage out of him with claws and extremes before the healers get too much back on him? I would range up to that point. I could bring Dragon bolts E to use after the claw spec and hope to get lucky. Would it be better to do this or just range him?

First of all I have 59 fire capes at the moment, and the jad record, so I do know what I'm talking about. I think or your jad task I would take two crystal bows, bring claws for specs throughout the caves. I wouldn't claw jad unless you know what you are doing because it does take timing, and alot of luck. When you get to jad, make sure you have sounds on. Start in the NE corner, by the Italy rock. If you hear a sound before an attack hits you, pray mage. Otherwise continue praying range, with auto retaliate on. If after a while nothing is attacking you, Jad is stuck behind the Italy rock, so it's safe to run up there and get your guts back. Either way, when you begin to fight him turn your auto retaliate off now, since you can see him and just make sure you keep prayer up and that you switch according to his motions/sounds. Once the healers come, hit each of them once, and then start to kill them. Make sure to pay attention to Jad's motions still. Once they are dead, get back on Jad and fight it out until the end. Even at half HP I wouldn't bother clawing, since at 90 str and piety, you won't claw him out. The first fire cape I ever did, it took me 12 tries. I bet you'll get it this time for sure. Good luck on it!

Thanks a lot for the reply. That is what I have done the past 8 times, and I just can't seem to get the healers off of him while switching my prayers.

Anyways, earlier today I went into the caves to do the task. I was about at wave 55 when the power went out, so everything shut off and I logged back in dead <_< Wait until next task to try I guess...

Best advice I could give for Jad is to stay calm and take as much time as you (just hope you have enough p pots left :P). When the healers come out step around jad just a few steps at a time always paying attention to his feet, if you're watching them to switch to range pray, then when you're close enough to a healer hit it once and move on to the next one taking it small steps and always watching jad.

The first couple tries I did I would either panic and mess up the prays or be stupid about getting all the healers. Once I got the idea through my head to take my time my next try was flawless and I got my first firecape (at level 137 ftw).

Bottom line: Stay calm, take your time.

(I know I said the same thing alot)

Slayer; it's just what I do.
