Get used to filters, and brushes....download some brush packs(google) learn how to use lasso tools, pen tools, selections, gradients, etc.

Get use to the concept of layers, think of them as transparent glass sheets stacked ontop another witch each sheet being a layer and can contain a picture

Learn how to quickmask another form of selection press q to enter quickmass mode (greyscale colors only)

Selections to add to current selection press shift before using tool, press alt to subtract from selection and ctrl+click on the picture of canvas in the layers pallatee

learn how to use the brush tool incuding burn and dodge. you can change the hardness with shift+ [ or shift+] and the size with [ or ]

just practice and make text blend in..to transform press ctrl+t and enter to accept
