Quyneax
I think we should be able to hide non-friend public chat (chat won't appear in the chatbox, unless it's a friend speaking). Especially at busy places, where I don't want to clog my chat but want to keep an eye on what people say (e.g. dungeoneering, trade) it's nearly impossible to recognise a friend speaking. Or reading back, to catch up on a slow conversation at such a place (afking some bank skill). Now that I'm at it, we should also be able to (clan) chat in MA. But I suppose that's a stretch. Quyneax
Can't you just set public/clan chat to friends?I wouldn't be able to see what random people call out... that's the entire point of setting chat to friends. I want to be able to see what people say without it cluttering clan chat/personal conversation. I want to be able to see what people say without it cluttering clan chat/personal conversation. So why not set public chat to hide then talk to friends via pm/clanchat?My chat IS usually set to hide, as I said in my original post. But I can't find whatever they said in the chatbox. I suppose I could suggest that an option to chat in multiple ccs should be implemented... I can think of half a dozen friends of mine that wouldn't fit in Grimy's cc at all. Or I could ask for an addition to the friends list that automatically pms you with whatever your friends say if you are within range. Point is, I know people I really only speak when I happen to meet them (which is pretty likely to happen as I play on one world mostly). So I want to know when I'm near one. It may not be useful for you, but it is for me, and it's also entirely harmless.
