BOOTMGR missing error

Featured Replies

I bought and built my computer!!! Windows is already giving me trouble, however. I tried to install and got corrupted file messages, urging me to begin again, only to receive BOOTMGR error.

I changed primary boot to the CD, but under the repair option, no OS shows up, leaving me clueless as to what to do.

Help please thanks?

If you got corrupt file etc errors when TRYING TO INSTALL it is quite apparent that it did NOT INSTALL so why would there be an OS there to repair?

You need to install it first, and if that is throwing up corrupt file errors then it means:

Harddrive is corrupted (unlikely cause it prob wuldnt even pick harddrive up in tht case)

CD/DVD drive isn't functioning properly (Some fancy ones plain wont work without drivers, and though BIOS can access drivers it can't get at drivers you've never installed due to lack of os; though more likely fault is the reading part of it is broke in some way. But if it isn't an old drive its fairly unlikely its busted)

Most likely your install disc is screwed, its either smeared or scratched or just a dud disc.
