Hmm, I think you'll be able to get away with a prebuilt from Dell or such that will meet your needs, especially if you don't plan to game more than RS (Idk what Sony Vegas is though... isn't that a phone?)

The pc you have there has way more RAM than you'll ever need, which is upping it's price I think. 4gb is really the most you'll need unless you really want to work your computer. Also, there's no monitor or OS, which is at least another $250 or more.

Here's one I found on Dell: http://www.dell.com/us/p/studio-xps-8100/pd?oc=dxdonp1&model_id=studio-xps-8100

It's still $900, and on sale (Happy Holidays!), but that's similar in price to your ebay model, but it will come with everything all set up and ready to go. And hell, it's not a bad pc. If you really wanted to, you could simply up the graphics card and be good to play heavier games as well.

As always, get more information before you make a purchase, but I would try to take advantage of the holiday deals. I woulnd't build one though, from your standpoint. Too much work for something mainly casual.

I would stay away from Dell, and Asus is currently the best brand. Also, monitors aren't that expensive, I got my secondary, which is 22" 1080p for $180 CAD, which is even less in USD.

A few things:

Are you in the USA?

Do you definatly want a prebuilt? Or would you be happy buying parts then building yourself or paying for it to be built.

If you're using vegas, you may want something with a real graphics card. Unfortunately you can't find good prebuilts under $800 with a dedicated card. If you want to try to DIY, I can put a build together for you.
