December 19, 200520 yr I'd appreciate it if only those with experience in this area reply, I know a fair bit about computers so I am not in need of the standard advice. I am using usenetmonster.com to read newsgroups - I am on a 2Mbit line, and usually get around 220KB/s download rate, however lately during evenings I get <4KB/s download rate... I can download at full speed from HTTP servers, so it's not a block on my end at least. I am using GrabIT 1.5.3 beta as my client, but I'm not too knowledgeable about newsgroups in general. Does anyone know what my problem could be? I have actually emailed the company in question but they don't seem to want to respond. Thanks. P.S. Before anyone starts the piracy witch hunt cry, this is not for piracy. Believe it or not some people still like to use newsgroups for NEWS. Some people are changed by being a moderator. I wouldn't be.
December 20, 200520 yr You must really like your news to require 220kbps downloads all the time. I'm guessing theres alot of video available? Sounds interesting :)
December 20, 200520 yr Author I just happen to like getting what I pay for. If I'm home in the evening then I don't want to wait until the next day to read the postings because I've spent 12 hours downloading headers. Some people are changed by being a moderator. I wouldn't be.
