I was posting an evaluation of a persons post and when I actually tried to post it, it said that I had over the maximum allowed number of quotes. Why is this limit actually in place and could I be removed?

Because quotes progressively widen the page, which would distort things and make it overly scrolly for small resolutions, when its a quote train anyway.

Removing it would make for epic fails in long flame wars etc.

Sy_Accursed nailed it ;) Excessive nested quotes are a violation of the Tip.it Forum Rules anyway. They make the post MUCH longer when it is unnecessary.

 

If you reach the limit, just remove some of the quotes and you're good to go ;)
