Choice of 2 Laptops

Featured Replies

Okay Tif, after recently turning 18 I received money that I want to put towards a new Laptop. So far I've narrowed it down to 2 but I can't seem to decide between them.

Acer Aspire 5742G

Packard Bell TK85 P6100

I'm leaning towards the Packard Bell one but the i3 of the Acer is pulling me back as I don't know that much about processors and it has a higher clock speed than the other. But then the nVidia card has a lower core speed than the Ati card.

So for general Laptop/Computer use and gaming (Halo 2, Dawn of War 1/2 and maybe newish games at mid settings) which do you think would be the best?

Or can you find me something better with a 400-600 budget, that is available to buy in/delivers to Spain?

Any help is appreciated and as I'm going to sleep now then have college in the morning, I'll reply to any questions in about 14hours time.

Why can't the Big Bang be done by the hand of God?

It could have, but it is next to impossible because it also could have been caused by the flying spaghetti monster, or one of the other infinite number of deity possibilities.

The Acer one is defenitely the best here, better processor, better graphics card.

You don't want to stick to the Pentiums like the Packard Bell, Pentiums are ancient and not worth it at all. Also I believe the video card in the Acer one is better than the one in the Packard Bell.

If you want we can try and find something even better, but I will personally need to know which websites can ship there.
