The QFC tag and Scam links.

Featured Replies

I know it'd probably require a fair amount of work.

But in light of the return of scam links due to free trade etc I thought it might be worth forcing rsof forum links to use the QFC tag in some way so they HAVE to link to where they say they are.

Sort of like how atm if you paste a url it automatically gets put in url tags.

Would mean people trying to post

[url=badsite]rsof forum link to make it look legit[/url]

would be forced into actually posting:

[url=badsite][/url] [url]actual rsof forum link[/url]

Only a vague idea and I'm sure it'd need details working out; but just thought it might be a useful idea to kinda put a spanner in the works of scam linkers (and make posting rsof links easier due to automation)

Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills ::  Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA Rewards

Dragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue

Any official links from Runescape.com linking to the forums/forum links are automatically filtered and told to use QFC's as per our censor currently. This has also interupted a few scam links recently as well, but we are filtering any website that is posted/variations of them to prevent them from being reposted.

I wouldn't even know where to start in regards to your idea. :-P

Ah fair enough didn;t realise it had already been put in in that capacity which would be the "easy" part of this idea anyway.

Might be worth looking into still thou to see if filter can automatically break rsof forum likn texts out of url tags that go elsewhere.

I like the idea, these phishing attempts are starting to get annoying but It all depends on what can and can't be done. Would be nice though.
