I don't think anyones worked out how much more it does because to figure that you gotta know what the hit was before the boost, but from what I've heard it is worth wearing them as it significantly raises DPS.

 

not sure on combat class thing, but I'd assume it works for all 3; afterall it says increased damage when fighting iit doesn't specific meleeing or maging or ranging.
