Question about Tds

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm farming Tds, and i would like your opinion. Now i'm getting like 36 kills per 2x unicorn, that about 2h of killing.

But could i improve my killing? maybe i should use void? I'm using just deflect curse, but if i use regular pray with eagle eye or piety, could i get more kills with same gear/inventory?

My stats are:

95att 92str 99def 99range 80pray

and here is my gear/inv what i'm using atm.

Short version:

Could i get more kills per trip with void? (trip lasts ~2h)

Could i get more kills with regular pray book and eagle eye/piety with same amout of pp pots (11-13) per trip?

Ty in advance.

Switching to a whip would improve your kills/hour, as would a chaotic rapier/longsword/maul/crossbow.

Getting access to extremes would be huge and I'd make that top priority.

Void would help.

Ring of life shouldn't be necessary, replace with onyx (i)>dstone (i)>zerker>archer>warrior (or so, order isn't absolute).

Don't use ruby bolts, use plain rune bolts, or better yet, use a Karil's crossbow and bolt racks.

Use a cape with a prayer bonus (sw cape > trimmed skill cape > god cloak), and replace 3 prayer pots with another potion set. Pot more than twice as often. One set of supers should NOT last 2 hours, even 2 sets shouldn't last too long. The more I think about it the more I'm thinking even with two super sets you should only last one unicorn. Work on extremes asap so you can stay longer and kill faster.

Normal prayers are a lot better, especially if you can get rigour, so definitely switch out prayers. You shouldn't be using curses at ALL until 95 prayer, let alone at TDs where piety/eagle eye is STILL better than turmoil/leach ranged. Switch your prayers and don't go back to that altar for quite a while.

I shudder to ask what lure you're using? If you're killing one TD and waiting for it to spawn that's a huge time sink right there, so learn one of the spots that allow you to multikill (videos galore on the youtubes).

Okay, so i should use void, use normal pray, but i have only eagle eye, my dung level is only 34. Yes i know, i should get chaotics, and i want to get my hands on rapier and c'bow, and like u said my goal is to get extremes/overload thats why i'm doing tds.

Now i'm asking myself, should i go dung and get rapier and c'bow instead of doing td? ang get back to them only with chaotics?

So if im using 2 super sets, when should i drink? Using whip should i change style from Lash to Flick?

If i'm using spot for multikill, is still good way to kill if i still can't manage to kill td till another respawns? Till now i was using spot for one td, waitted till respawn.

And finally with this gear using two sets, using normal prayer with eagle eye and piety could i manage kill more than 36Tds in less than 2h trip?

(at pic using avas just because i'm currently low on suplies like bolts...no gp atm, need that claw drop :D and about ring, i haven't played mini game to get ring (i))

Yes, you should go do dungeoneering before continuing TDs if you're willing. Nothing you can do at TDs will help you in dungeoneering, but there are three dungeoneering rewards that would have a huge effect on your kills/hour at TDs, so you'd save a lot of time by getting the chaotics first. It would probably take you a while though.

Thinking strictly of TDs, I'd suggest getting a rapier or maul and rigour, but not crossbow. Karil's crossbow is better anyway, so use that.

For right now, if you absolutely can't afford anything else, sell your ruby bolts and buy rune bolts. Rune bolts are quite a bit better. God cloaks are also pretty cheap if I recall, and it'd help your prayer pots last longer, so I'd look into that.

I would probably pot around 5 under the max boosts if I were you. The pots will go fast but you should notice a big difference in how fast you're able to kill TDs.

As for multikilling, I don't understand your question. I'm saying you should use a spot that allows you to keep one TD safespotted while you kill another, so as soon as one dies you can start on a second TD while waiting for the first to respawn.

I'm not sure if that setup will get you more than 36 kills in the ~45 minutes it'd last you, but that's not a big deal. It takes 3 minutes to get back to TDs, so it's MUCH better to kill them quickly for 45 minutes, bank, and start a new trip than it is to kill them excruciatingly slowly for 2 hours. You might also experiment with bringing 3 potion sets when you get that prayer cape, but you would probably start running out of prayer early at that point.

Get rid of the ring of life for an archer or zerker, even if you die which you shouldn't if you know what you're doing, grave only takes 3 mins to get too just make sure to have a spare lantern and 10 min or better grave. That setup is a lot better than the first one but a chaotic wep and extremes would speed up kills a lot

Well ill try to explain, so i trap two tds. killing one. kill it and go kill other instanly, but i wont kill the 2nd td till 1st respanw, max i could do is kill kill 1st kill 1/2 of 2nd td till first respawns.

And ill probably go do dung to get rapier/rigour and maybe c'bow (rapier i would also use at slay, and c'bow is for gwd, because i like solo/team, as long as i got supplies :D)

By the way, how much boltrack needed for karil c'bow for 1 trip at tds?

Oh hey also *points at the DG team in my sig*

Once you get to floor 35 or so, you could start joining teams there. It's a LOT better than 117/148.

Wow guys ty for all that info :)

So after reading replies i decided to go and do dungeoneering, i know it's going to take a while, but getting chaotics is in my plans, just now they going to be sooner :D and after that i'm going to td again and if i'm lucky to be able to get overloads ;D

Besides if i'm going to get bored at dung, i could always come back to td, no matter if my gear lame :D

and i'm going to get that cape from quest nomad's...

last question, how much i need boltracks per trip? or rune bolts with no avas?
