built / building f2p str / def tank

what the title says pretty much...started this guy quite some time ago and just went with it for i dont remember the actual reason lol

 

stats: / current / future

 

cb: 72 / ? whatever

att: 50 / 50?

str: 68 / 75-99

def: 68 / 75-99

hp: 68 / 65+ whatever i end up with

range: 67 / 75-99

magic: 57 / 85-99

pray: 3 / 44-45 unless i get 99s in desired stats

 

why a tank right? well the feel of the wild is that pures own everything, no if, ands, or buts...at my current lvl of 70 i've owned every pure or type of build that has stayed long enough to find out the ending. there are some builds that have put up a great fight but its ended the same. i'm not talking trash about pures in any way but its time for the "pure reign" to come down a bit lol. let me know what you guys think about this build for current pvping and possibly later.

 

i'm currently working on getting my range to around 70+ (staying melee based cb) and getting magic up while ranging

The number one reason why pures are and have been so successful since RSC days is down to the advantage in Hitpoints and Strength- namely, the lower the defense, the higher the capacity to hit higher as well as the capacity to absorb hits. On F2P servers, Pures don't have a "gamebreaker" in the mould of a Granite Maul/Dark Bow/Godsword etc and so that effectively negates the Hitpoints disadvantage. Plus the dominant hybrid is range/melee, which you are well protected, and once you get 650-700 HP Fire Blast's measly 160s are not even worth worrying about.

 

The only genuine threat would be a skilled Range/Magic hybrider, as high Ranged will slaughter your defense if you take off your armour to defend against Magic.

 

The problem I see with the build, however, is not it's defensive capacity but the second reason why pures are so popular/successful- the ability to hit high. You simply don't have the ability to kill an opponent short of a deathmatch, especially with only 65 str.

FYI, most pures run if you put up any armour over mithril :(

yeah ive noticed how many people will constantly ask for no arm fights. i just say no thx and wait till attacked or they say they dont care. yes im fully aware that most pures my cb lvl have 90+ str and hit way higher than i do but it doesnt bother me at all. if they hit high enough to ko me the kudos lol other wise quit being scared of def, grow a pair and be willing to die with honor and not run like a dog with your tail between your legs

50attack is not gonna be much use when ur combat is into the 90s

im sorry but how is this in any way a pker?? ur stats r that off a low lvl main..

 

tbh my pure is 77 str and with pot and prayer it hits hard on def and with a side of 82 range and 77 magic it has support for when tanks decide to change armour or pray...
