May 14, 201115 yr General rule I've seen from DGS is only use a maul if you're str level is 20 levels higher then your att; aka if you'd use a maul that's two tiers better then then 2h. May 14, 201115 yr Maul will make you pretty useless against mages, necro, rangers, zombies(? not actually sure about their crush def), magic books. The extra str bonus isn't worth a 'slash' option.
