The Observer
With phpBB3, member titles worked a lot different than on IP.Board. Basically you would have to create one and select it from a drop down list if you wanted to change someone's. Now in IP.Board, you have to type it in manually. With that change, the old system of changing someone's member title to 'Banned' or 'Temporarily Banned' doesn't work as well or isn't as easily done. Since there's an option in the ACP ban interface to change a member group (but not member title), it'll make it easier to just create a group based for banned users. This is quite useful to know who is banned and who is not. Thoughts?
obfuscator
No. It's an individual's right to choose to let people know whether or not they've been banned, we don't need to parade it around. The Observer
There is a difference between showing that they are banned and why they're banned. Obviously the latter wouldn't be revealed. They can't reveal anything if they've been banned regardless. So that ability to tell everyone is removed.
