Mourning end part 2

Ok i`m struggling with Mourning end part 2 quest.

 

I`m currently at this point :

 

(Door 5) :

 

Head West on Pillar, inserting a Mirror to make the light head down. The top of the Mirror should be to the East and the bottom to the West. Go back to the Fractured Crystal and go South. Place a Mirror in the Pillar beside the Ladder that makes the light head East. At the end of this beam of light you must make it head down. To do this insert a Mirror and make the top be on the West and the bottom to the East.

 

But I can`t rotate the mirror so it`s head west bottom east, so .. what to do :(.

I can choose about these three options btw :

It says top west, bottom east; thats option one.

See how the part near west marker is larger to show it is closer to you and the east is smaller showing further away; as the graphic gives a top on view of the pillar this means the west edge is at the top and the eastern at the bottom.

As this particular beam is coming from the west it would hit the underside of the mirror and bounce downwards.

 

There is a nice grid in step 4 that shows examples and explains this mechanic.

Hmm, look at this :

 

 

Start looking at approximatly 34:10 , as you can see he somehow does have the option to make the small part face the west and the large part face the east (Like picture 1 but then the opposite), how come he can, and I can`t :(

Because he is at a different pillar?

Different pillars have different options based on their shape and location.

And why is it an issue given that you do not need to put it that way round.

 

The beam is coming from the west and needs to be sent down; option 1 of those available does this.

It isn`t like option one lol, tried it already but it`s incorrect.

 

Also I am on the exact same pillar as the guy in that video, and that`s the problem, why I can`t set it, like he could set it.

 

(Trying option 1 again, just to make sure)

 

 

Set it to picture one, then went down to where the light should come, but nothing (yes I did rotate the mirror at picture two, and the light didn`t come with any side I turned the mirror).

 

Also I think I know where your misunderstanding begins, from where I strugle the line has to go like / and not -.

The step you quoted you are following the beam EAST; meaning it is entering the pillar you are at from the WEST.

You need to send the beam DOWN.

This means the larger top of the mirror needs to be at the WEST and the smaller bottom at the EAST.

This is option 1.

 

Having the large bit at the east and small at the west would send the beam upwards.

 

As you are sending it down you put option 1 in and you won't see the beam leaving the pillar, go down a floor to see the beam entering the pillar below from above.

No wonder nothing is happening; there's not a beam of light going into the pillar at all, there should be a white line coming from the west into the pillar.

Lol you know that the second picture (where no beam is at) is where the green light is suppose to come down, if I set it correctly, right? :P

 

 

That`s the pilar that i`m talking about, I have to send the beam south west down from there.

You have messed up somewhere cause option 1 is the right mirror alignment to send the beam down as it enters the pillar from the western edge.

 

So that pillar you are stood at in most recent picture in SE corner top floor, option 1 will send the beam down to the SE corner bottom floor via the blue crystal on the middle floor.

The picture before that is where the green beam should come out, which is a different location entirely to the one you quoted as being stuck on.

 

Also What guide are you using, because that text you quoted isn't in tip.it guide.

I used some fail ****** guide.

 

Used your advice, and did the same to the pilar at the west (the guide says : 'The top of the Mirror should be to the East and the bottom to the West') and with your advice it would be exactly the oppositve, so I followed your advice and it worked, seems like the guide just fails horribly.
